It was an incredible event, featuring outstanding speakers who provided valuable insights. And can we talk about the venue? The Vancouver Hilton truly knocked it out of the park! • Last week, Greg Zanavich and Jennifer Riddle, along with a couple of team members from the Port of Vancouver, embarked on a fishing adventure along the scenic Willamette River. While the fish may have eluded us, the experience was nothing short of captivating. As we cast our lines, we had the privilege of observing firsthand what Tidewater does in the bustling Portland harbor. We watched as Georgia Pacific unloaded the barges of consumer paper products Tidewater had delivered the day before. If you’ve ever shopped at Costco, you’ll recognize the distinctive packaging. It’s incredible to see how seamlessly these essential goods move through our waterways and to our local stores. Next, our eyes were drawn to the Tidewater's tugboat Maverick as it navigated the river. The Maverick plays a crucial role in harbor barge movements. After some waving, the crew recognized us and gave us a toot on their horn - which never fails to delight. 🌟 Then in a "I can't believe our luck" moment, Tidewater Canada’s Articulated Tug and Barge, the Island Trader, made its appearance. With its distinctive notch-in-the-stern-of-the-barge design, the ATB was heading out on it's journey back to Vancouver, BC. What a great day on the river and in the busy, vital Portland Harbor! 🚤🛳️🙂

  • Exploring the heart of grain commerce on a beautiful day in the PNW! Our Tidewater team—Aaron Degodny, Neil Perlmutter, Greg Zanavich, and Jennifer Riddle—was treated to a great tour of United Grain Corporation's Vancouver, WA export grain elevator. From checking out the swift off-loading of a Tidewater grain barge to the equally as fast loading of a Panamax ship, we got to see the workings of global trade first hand. Did you know? A staggering 60% of U.S. grain travels out of the Columbia Snake River System, making our system the largest wheat gateway in the nation, third in the world! 🥇🌾🌍 Some of us opted for the cozy elevator ride, while others decided to climb the 330' to the top, either way we all ended up at the top, with a breathtaking panorama of beautiful Vancouver. While looking downriver, we spied one of our Point Class tugs, the Granite Point in the distance. Can you spot her? Thank you United Grain for a terrific tour! 🙂

  • Come rain or shine, the PNW Chapter of Women in Maritime Organization always makes a splash! Despite the downpour, yesterday's Lunch and Learn event at Tidewater's Headquarters and Industrial Center Terminal in Vancouver, Washington was a hit. We braved the weather and enjoyed a tour of the tugboat Defiance and explored Tidewater's drydock and container yards. A huge thank you to everyone who joined! #WomenInMaritime ⛈️🙂⚓️

  • Exciting day at Tidewater's Snake River Terminal in Pasco, Washington last Friday! We were honored to welcome esteemed guests: Dr. Basil Gooden, Under Secretary of Rural Development at USDA, Helen Price Johnson, Washington State Director of USDA Rural Development, Margi Hoffman, Oregon State Director of USDA Rural Development, and Will McIntee, Senior Advisor for Public Engagement at the White House. Their visit was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our Clean Energy Transition Project, made possible in part by the USDA's Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program grant. The Project is on track to be completed and ready to serve the region by the end of summer. Tidewater is incredibly grateful for our visitor's invaluable time and support as we continue our journey towards providing cleaner energy solutions to Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. An unplanned highlight occurred when two Tidewater Environmental Services trucks rolled by, servicing the terminal with roll-on/roll-off containers. Perfect timing, TES! 💚 #CleanEnergy #USDA
