Recipients are selected based on the attributes like entrepreneurial spirit, hard work through activities and jobs and commitment to serving and leading others — traits exemplified by RDO Equipment Co. leaders Steve Connelly and Mark Kreps, who tragically passed away in 2020. What began as a typical morning at the RDO store in Ada, MN, abruptly took a 180 when a team member suffered a medical emergency. Thankfully, due to the heroic actions of two quick-thinking team members, tragedy was avoided. Leif S. and Brent P. jumped into action and put their previous medical training to work by providing CPR until first responders arrived. “It’s one thing to hear about a miracle story like this somewhere in the news, but it is an entirely different feeling to have it be your team members saving the life of a fellow team member," shared Mike Rood, Ada Store Manager. "I am so proud of them." Because of their courageous acts, both individuals as well as the paramedics that reported to the call were presented with Life Saver Awards from the Ada Police Department. Thanks to these responders, we're happy to report that the team member who experienced the medical issue is okay and recovering well!
